Cornell Cooperative Extension: The foundation for Cooperative Extension was laid down during the Abraham Lincoln administration and the educational network that resulted has been fostering educational outreach since before today’s definition of “outreach” was coined. Cornell University Cooperative Extension of Westchester County is part of this national network of educational agencies. In addition to its position under the USDA, Cooperative Extension is always associated with a state’s land grant university. Cornell Cooperative Extension of Westchester County’s close relationship with Cornell University enables its Horticulture Program to serve the Green Industry’s needs through educational programs, plant and pest diagnostic services and other problem solving outreach.
